Murtabak

Murtabak is a Indian Muslim hawker dish loved across Singapore. Here is what it is, what to order and where to try it, starting at North Bridge Road.

What is Murtabak?

Murtabak comes from the Arabic word for "folded". Thin dough is filled with spiced meat, egg and onion, then folded and fried on a flat griddle. Murtabak is part of Singapore's hawker culture, recognised by UNESCO in 2020 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
