Rojak
Rojak is a Malay hawker dish loved across Singapore. Here is what it is, what to order and where to try it, starting at Whampoa Market & Food Centre.
What is Rojak?
Rojak means "mixture" in Malay. Pineapple, cucumber, turnip, beansprouts and crispy you tiao are tossed in a sticky black prawn paste sauce and topped with crushed peanuts. Rojak is part of Singapore's hawker culture, recognised by UNESCO in 2020 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
