Carrot Cake
Carrot Cake is a Teochew hawker dish loved across Singapore. Here is what it is, what to order and where to try it, starting at Toa Payoh Lorong 1.
What is Carrot Cake?
Chai tow kway has no carrots. It is radish cake fried with egg. The name comes from "white radish" being called "white carrot" in Hokkien. Carrot Cake is part of Singapore's hawker culture, recognised by UNESCO in 2020 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
