Chwee Kueh
Chwee Kueh is a Teochew hawker dish loved across Singapore. Here is what it is, what to order and where to try it, starting at Ghim Moh Market.
What is Chwee Kueh?
Chwee kueh means "water cake". Rice-flour cakes are steamed in small cups and topped with chai poh, salty preserved radish fried in oil. Chwee Kueh is part of Singapore's hawker culture, recognised by UNESCO in 2020 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
